Caneius Saccharius

Co-monarch of Candia, with Caramella Saccharius, his twin sister. Both are members of the House of Saccharius. Became monarch after his older sister, Caroline Saccharius, died in the Ravening War.
Mid-30s aged Paladin, following the Oath of the Crown.
- His driving force is to keep the land of Candia as functional as possible.

Married to the Queen Consort, Judith Jawbreaker Saccharius. It is a strictly political marriage, there’s no love there. He married her to tamp down on what could have been some conflicting claims to the throne, he saw it as his duty to Candia.

A celebrated war hero from the Ravening War
He entered the War very young, became celebrated from some of the battles he took part in, leading to his coronation
He wasn’t ever aiming to become king, he just kind of ended up there because he was a good soldier.
He’s good at being king, but is somewhat reluctant about it—it’s not something he loves doing.
In private, he’s smoking cigarettes making it through the day, but as a public figure he appears to be the perfect king, kissing babies, etc.
He has resigned himself to being monarch until he dies, he doesn’t have a plan or anything for getting out of his situation. He of course doesn’t want to be monarch, but he just can’t imagine abdicating the throne and letting someone else do it.
He does have spell casting, most of which occurs during combat which is a time where all bets are off already, so it’s not a huge hindrance the majority of the time.
Married Lady Judith when they were both very young, as part of the peace deal after the Ravening War. Very much a political marriage, and they both carry some amount of resentment because they know it isn’t for love.
